What is the Best Latex Mattress?

Who makes the Best Latex Mattress

I’ve been manufacturing latex mattresses for the last 13 years and I have used all types of latex in our latex bed lineup. What I have discovered is that there is really no right or wrong choice when it comes to latex mattress toppers and cores. They each have their merits which I will now discuss further.

Does Dunlop or Talalay Make the Best Latex Mattress?

Again, there is no right or wrong choice here. Both types of latex mattress cores and toppers have their own rewards and both are better than any other type of foam on the market. I personally prefer the benefits Talalay foam offers because it’s more conforming to my body and the fact that I sleep on my side it allows my shoulders to sink into it even more and reduces the pressure points. Dunlop foam is more dense and works well for back sleepers who are more heavy set. Both the Talalay and Dunlop latex foam come in a variety of firmness choices and both are available in all natural latex and blended latex.

Is the Best Latex Mattress All Natural or Blended?

The jury is still out on this subject. One thing that cannot be denied is the increased durability of the blended latex, especially Talalay latex. I have personally seen the blended Talalay latex last over 40 years and recently I saw some that was 20 years old and had not deteriorated at all. It was made by Latex Foam Products in 1990 (now known as Latex International). My biggest peeve is people somehow believing that this is toxic because it has some man made components. Nonsense, the chemicals evaporate during the super heating process and then any residual is washed out during the 7 step washing process. What’s left is pure, clean, non-toxic and durable latex.

The all natural latex, in both Talalay and Dunlop, offers a more dense latex mattress and slightly less conforming ability. It also has a slightly stronger rubber odor although nothing chemical in smell. We are selling tons of these products as the “green movement” accelerates here in the states and people are just afraid for no good reason of the blended latex because some chemicals were used in the liquid. So if you are looking for a definitive answer as to which is the best latex mattress then I have bad news. There is no clear winner.
